the prestigious imperial college... this was the first time she set foot here... she looked around... dressed in her brand new uniform... her freshly permed curls and a tinge of excitement. she looked around.. for someone she know. however, so many people whom she bet she knew all walked away like strangers. finally, she caught hold of b.
"b! you're here too!" she said in relief.. finally.. a friend!
"yeah.. i'll be here for three months.. some exchange programme stuff. you?"
"oh.. three months. i'm here for a new term.. i'll be here til i graduate."
"cool! okie.. see ya around then." b then left with her own friends while she looked on. didn't they used to be on pretty good terms? oh well.. things do change don't they?
she then looked ahead... everyone was rushing to the public hall... for some performance or orientation stuffs. she quickyl moved towards the same direction.. and took a seat number at the entrance.
the hall was full of people.. the stage was filled with crew members setting up for a live band performance. she looked at her number... 2130. where on earth would her seat be? wherever she looked.. the numbers were way different from hers.. she even saw her family members seated somewhere in the crowd.. what was going on? family members were invited too? but she soon gave up on that and concentrated on finding her seat.
finally.. she gave up. the band was starting.. and the seat was nowhere in sight. she had no choice but to settle on somewhere near. she found a row of empty seats in the middle of the hall and just sat down.. to heck with the numbers. then somehow.. even before she realized it.. she was chatting with someone sitting behind her.
the music played on.. the crowd was totally going wild and the atmosphere was just.. high. everything just started to sound like real noise to her.. what was all these craze about? it seemed like some popular school band was performing and some girls just went crazy about it.. she was just about to join in the fun when someone suddenly sat next to her.
"it's my seat you are sitting on." that someone said.
she looked up and who she saw was a young chinese boy. perhaps of her same age. he had short hair... big eyes.. clean-shaven and was totally cute... really cute.
"i'm sorry.. but i really can't find my place..." she tried to defend herself.
"it's alright." he flashed a kind smile.. one that anyone would expect from a kind senior to a blur junior for not knowing where to sit on the first day of school.
she must have blushed a little bit as they both watched the performance in silence between them. they must have said something eventually... and went on to have a nice chat. a kind senior... a cute one at that as well.. school might not be that bad.
